Advanced Hunting

Postby Llizard_CZ » Thu Oct 03, 2013 9:47 pm

Yesterday i just started with hunting beaver and i also want to hunt deers so my guestions are :
1. How much biles i should have to kill deer (my biles are i think 16.15.16.15) and how should i do it.
( i saw a video where someone was chasing it with wandering and hitting it with thrust but AI has changed so i don't know if it is still working.
2.When i am hunting beaver i will dry and sell hide and use brain to tan rabbit skin, so now i don't know what should i use the leather for.Should i keep it for later use, sell it or make something.i have a hat and a woo-woo-wand and i want to make some more clothes but you are more experienced in it and that's the reason why i am asking.

Easiest way to kill a deer is find some near your settlement (or just a fenced in area with makeshift fences and gates, takes like an hour max to build if you make it small), hit the with a stone from your slingshot then draw them towards the fence as you run like hell, dodging behind stones and trees as you go so their charge doesn't hit you, then run inside and close the gate behind you. Then stomp them through the gate over and over while they're close to it. Very safe way to kill deer if you're worried about your biles. Otherwise I usually kind of hide behind an old log or something and stomp and uppercut them, but I'm still pretty new myself so ymmv.

Make a canoe with the leather! Takes 12 leather and a few other things.

does boxing them in with the hollow logs still work? (Assuming there's enough in the area to do this)

Just stay close and they wont charge you, you shouldn't have to make an obstacle course. Use stomp to engage, that way you don't get a charge as you would with a slingshot.

Get a sword if you don't already have one. With 22-ish yb it's 2-hit kill (add some arrowheads to your clothes with c&d proficiency (snakeskin coat&boots f.x) for extra damage)(don't get 20 yb before you have 19 other humours, made that mistake myself).
Stomp, stay close, thrust, thrust.

1- Go to any forrest, turn forage mode on, walk around, study items you find, get all skills. Especially agriculture, baking, cabbage growing, pumpkin growing.

2- Make fields, humus bin, oven, 5 baking tables.

3- collect lavender blewits, sugar caps.

4- Grow pumpkin, cereal and Make mushroom pies, humble meat pies, pumpkin pies.

Mushroom pies made from sugar caps can raise your blood quickly and easly

Mushroom pies made from lavender blewits can raise your yellow bile

Pumpkin pies are perfect for phlegm

Humble meat pies( made from beaver) will raise your black bile.

When you make your biles 35 or 40 you can hunt deers easly.

By the way keep staying close to deers and use thrust to kill deers. Don't sling stone.

Have you made it to hunting bears or argopelters yet? Do you need help with that strategy?
