Curious cabbage and screenshots

Postby jesi » Sun Sep 29, 2013 5:20 pm

I just got one of these. Has anyone else seen one? And I am using this as a chance to ask, politely, for a step by step guide to making and posting screenshots. My problem is that I play on an azerty keyboard and the key or keys to press for screenshots are labeled i French. So if someone could point out exactly what key to press and how to upload the shot to wherever it needs to go . . . I would be very appreciative and may even give them the cabbage, assuming they are playing on Jamestown, and it cannot be made into a super duper yellow bile food.

First things first:

Curious cabbages are semi-rare, I haven't seen as many as i'd like. Definitely much rarer than the wild oats.

as taken from the how to UI thread:

MagicManICT wrote:Alt+S: Screen shot--Saves to a web stream. See this update for more information: http://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6014. Captures can be viewed at http://www.salemthegame.com/screenshots

(fixed an error which said ctrl rather than alt)
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

If you're using an azerty keyboard, you should have a "impr ecran" key. This works as well to take screenshots.

I don't know about strange cabbages, never saw one and you should keep yours :)

Absolutly.

By the way, using an azerty keyboard is kinda awfull, so if you ever need to switch it to qwerty without having to buy a new one (for exemple to use asdw or whatever), you can use alt+shift. It's really usefull, especially in a game where you can't change the bindings ^^

it's also incredibly annoying :) I see no issue with an azerty keyboard (which is the default here in belgium).
I have an azerty at home and a qwerty at work, and it really doesn't make a iot of difference if you're used to both of them.
Except maybe when typing in french, because the azerty is superior in that case. Luckily, I don't type in french :)

This is going off topic but if noone complains . . . The keyboard is azerty in the sense that the labels on the keys are that way. I long ago changed the logiciel to allow me to tap in a qwerty fashion. Not sure what you mean about not being able to change the key bindings. The only trick is to not look at the keys when typing because it sometimes throws me off.

As for that screenshot (trying to get back on topic)

(deleted at Kandarim's suggestion).

Oh and what is even better. I just got a second one.

good to see the pixelicious pack is still in use! I'd like to comment that it is generally not deemed wise to share your actual humour levels/minimap on screenshots. Insecurity and animosity are part of your defense, after all. When taking the screenshot, there should be a checkmark whether or not to include the UI in the screenshot.

There was. But if I chose not to includethe UI, the inventory window did not show up in the image. That is why I put the inventory window over the biles image as best I could. Don't know what I did wrong or did not do.

Tell you what, I will eliminate the image from my post if you would please eliminate it in the quote you made.

Thanks.
