I remember Jorb and Loftar saying they were seriously debating adding in the ability to ride crickets as a gag skill for high level players. Pretty sure the idea got scraped though because the Devs love our tears

As far as i know, horses aren't in the game yet because they want to implement animal husbandry first.
Why not make them rent-able items until then ? 2000s/week or 500s/24h
You can rent them at an npc in town & the horse disappears after x amount of time.

yes we could craft up some cool looking cowboy hats and boots, get me banjo out.. spit like a cow boy. ah yes cowboys ftw!! oh the horse would be a bonus too :p will name it trigger! ps yeehaaa
