Well, as I said, it was the only thing I stole, and only did it because it seemed to be part of the game. People were doing it to me.

@Kandarim - You are right that justice needs to be carried out and people in different time zones may not be on at the same time.

However, I don't think stealing something should give someone the ability to magically make an offline person appear so you can murder them.

@DarkNacht - I see what you are saying that the game is trying to be somewhat realistic but being able to 'summon' someone is hardly realistic and why do snakes and bears only knock you out when you are actually playing the game but you can die when you are not even playing.

For people in different time zones, etc. vengeance can be gotten by stealing, damaging property, the same kind of things you can do when a person is online. Maybe he could add the ability to make traps, or I don't know something other than magically summoning an offline player. At least wit ha trap, you would be able to see your character die and have some sort of closure. I just assumed there was some technical glitch and my character was deleted, because all of the sudden, my character wasn't there.

I'm not saying that it is trying to be realistic, if I was I would call for your character to be standing around where you logged off. I'm saying that this game is not for people who are going to cry of losing there stuff or their character and that if you commit a crime without understanding the consequences that is your fault. If you don't want to be summoned there is an easy way to avoid it, just don't be a criminal its as easy as that. If you weren't a criminal you would not have had a problem.

I will gladly concede that some kind of message or pop-up should be given when a character was murdered while offline.
I won't concede you the "monkey see monkey do" mentality, though. Every action has its consequences, and it is naive to think that other people will allow the scents to pass as you have done in the past (albeit possibly without knowing about summon mechanics).
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

This isn't a care bear game. You were a criminal scum bag and you were put to death. The best part about this is whole thing is you lost 100's of hours of time invested into a character because you were a petty thief instead of taking said 100 hours and making a boat yourself. Good luck in your next game one less criminal makes the game that much better.

Crime is what makes this game fun as long as it's not tedious and repetitive (as in getting your stuff stolen every other day, things like that). If it weren't for the system of crime and punishment, this would either be a really crappy PvP game (because it would be hard to exact vengeance) or a tedious version of FarmVille (ie no PvP). One just has to make sure one doesn't do things that will get you ganked unless your ready for the potential consequences.

Dear Skabb,

I'm sad to read that you are thinking of quitting.
See this as the end of the Tutorial. You are ready for the game now, you learned that crimes don't come unpunished.

Some things you did wrong:

- Commit crimes with a weakly defended base
- Commit crimes on a neighbour
- Commit crimes on a plot of land owned by a member of the Sugar Sweet Savage Protection Program
- You did not pay your Claim-upkeep (right click Stake Claim for info)
- Half of your wall was on unclaimed land

Your body is the first to be stored on the Candy Island, see this as an honor.

I'm sure you can remake a new character in half the time you spent on this one,
don't hesitate to ask questions or help, it is way safer than stealing things. (I would have helped you make your own boat if you asked!!)
