Spare a thought for the poor southpaws!

Postby Graciemae » Thu Sep 19, 2013 2:55 am

Quick trivia time... 10% of the world's population are left-handed!

Unfortunately for that poor 10% of people WASD is just about the worst set of movement keys possible...PLEASE, someone enable movement using the arrow keys..pretty please, beg, whine, whimper!

P.S. Contrary to popular beliefs, we're not weird, sinister or criminals (well, some of us might be :P)

Accomodate a bunch of losers who couldn't even figure out how to use the right hand?

No Thanks.

If the left handed people have so much problem with this they should fix it them selfs.
Just get a program to remap the keys. The devs should really make it so that all the keys are remappable within the game but I doubt this will happen anytime soon.

A good idea to keep in mind. Hopefully there'll be some kind of support for leftys in the future. =)

I'm one of those people who flog children, left handed or not. The left handed ones just get flogged a little harder. Just throwin' that out there.

I am one of those children - originally left-handed, but my left hand was tied and i had to learn to write with right hand. Therefore I'd say: learn to adapt - use mouse-clicks for movement.
In feudalism, it's your count that votes...

I'm 90% lefthanded (i play the guitar righthanded & mouse & keyboard righthanded)
but never had problems with WASD (probably because i use my mouse with my right hand?)

@Chief, Left-handers are far from losers (most leaders, astronauts, musicians, artists & writers are lefthanded) In contrary to what most right-handers think, left-handers adapt much faster then right-handers.

Left-handers’ brains are structured differently from right-handers’ in ways that can allow them to process language, spatial relations and emotions in more diverse and potentially creative ways. Also, a slightly larger number of left-handers than right-handers are especially gifted in music and math.

I also prefer shaking hands with a lefty, for you to figure out why !

I'm righthanded myself, but I know a couple of southpaws that simply ... adapted. Of course, they are all near my age so they grew up in the early days of computering, and thus learned the use of "normal" righthanded peripherals. I can imagine it is a lot harder for older more established southpaws to adapt.

I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
