This needs emphasising more to new players at the start. I gather most people just #ragequit afterwards.

Also there is an instance when you shut the game (if not using the log out commend), your character can be still online after you shut the game, however i think there SHOULD be a msg that you have been killed. I heard about having the murderer on your kin list after somebody kills you.

how could this be done? If you're killed, you don't have a character anymore and thus not a kin list.

You will always correctly log-out if you log-out through the options menu.
Typing
Code: Select all
:act lo

is equivalent to using this button (and I do mean exactly the same).

Typing
Code: Select all
:lo

will not perform the usual checks before logging out, and might be useful if you want to log out a character which has active crime debuffs. Use at your own peril! It is not part of the UI for this single reason: you are not guaranteed to log out.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Yep, that's me.

I don't blame you for being ticked-off for me stealing your boat, but I hardly think petty theft deserves murder.

I put hundreds of hours into this character and now he's just gone. There should have been some in-game indication that I was leaving footprints.

I only stole something because it seemed like it was supposed to be part of the game. I had my place broken into a few times and I moved on and just built better defenses.

It's ridiculous that you can be summoned when you're offline. He should have to fight me while I'm online. At best it should give him an alert that I'm online and even if he does kill me, it shouldn't be permadeath. I should lose some stats, have him be able to loot me and then start me in Boston or something.

There's no way I'm going to play this game again now.

Permadeath is also part of the game. If you create a new character, he can still inherit your claim, if you had one.

Stop being a criminal scum and you might not find yourself so frustrated.

Committing crimes beyond accidentally hitting a player will require you to toggle criminal acts. There's a reason for that.

This is by extension part of a permadeath game.

This is the normal procedure: if you are online you magically appear at your homestead when the scents are used to summon you there. If you do not have a homestead, however, you can be summoned anywhere, and you will be instantly murdered upon arrival (even if the summoning character does not have murder). This was implemented because otherwise instantaneous teleportation was possible using the summon mechanic.

If you are not summonable when you are offline, how do you suggest justice be meeted out? It would be impossible to summon someone in another timezone than yourself, while they can perform crimes even easier (because you will not be online at the time).

The claim was destroyed during the livestream, as mentioned above.

It's ridiculous that you could steal stuff, it shouldn't be permanently taken away from its owner, just slightly damaged and returned in one hour.
In the future learn the game before you run around committing crimes. No one feels bad for dead thieves.
