In a topic i have see a lot of people with 500 of a proficiencie. So, it make any differ?

It does make a difference. A high Stocks & Cultivars gives higher average planty bonusses when planting crops, for instance. For a full listing, check here:

Also they help with slotting artifacts to clothes.

At this stage in the game isn't it easier to just toss some silver to someone to slot for you? Just worry about grinding S&C op.

For the most part I agree with Claeyt. It's easier (and much cheaper) to just buy slotted items from someone that's established. However, over the long term if you're making a lot of alts or running a town, it'll be cheaper to work on grinding up stats for this.

But then you miss the proficiencies for getting better foraged items. These are worth grinding up, too. (Forget which ones. Check the wiki page linked above.)

It seems like it also scales for slotting items
getting to 100 gives big bonuses, but passed that it doesn't seem help as much

the bonus's keep coming the higher you get.

As for buying slotted items, I've bought some and sold some but it can get pretty expensive pretty fast.

On Plymouth slotting stuff is a free service the Tribe provides to Treaty payers.
