History will remember Bush as a useless jackass who not only led us into 2 wars without ending them but also into the greatest economic fall since the Depression. He's poison within his own party and can't be seen in public with a republican candidate without hurting them politically. Clinton and Obama will be in high demand in this coming congressional election both for fundraising and because Democratic candidates want to be seen with them to be perceived as more electable. Bush will not be invited by any republican campaigns for any appearances with them. Why? Because even they view him as a failure and possibly the worst president of all time.

Obama has won 2 elections now by the widest vote total margins since Reagan's and Clinton's second terms, and history will tell a far different story about him than Bush. Only you and the other idiot Fox watchers are under the delusion that he's a joke in any possible way.

I've had this same argument with our resident republicans, Darwoth and Chief, several times over the last 10 months. Personally, I love it. It makes my day when Darwoth starts another of these political arguments on the forum somewhere. I think Chief's finally toned it down a bit because he knows I'll respond. There's at least a 4 threads now with our back and forth. It's been awhile since the last one so I hope Darwoth keeps it going.

You're right, Johnson and Buchanan are considered the worst. In the most recent survey by C-span/Smithsonian of American Historians as to presidential leadership and effectiveness those two were the bottom. They only rank dead presidents in the official survey apparently, but a follow up survey ranked Bush in the bottom 10 and Clinton Ranked 21st right in the middle of the pack.

You're probably right. Obama has been stymied by maybe the worst congress to ever exist in this country. He has done some important things that I support (Healthcare reform, ending the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Libya, Bank Reform) and he's also done some things I don't support (Drones, NSA). Overall I believe that history will remember him as a president that dealt with not only one of the most turbulent times in both World and American history but also with one of the most divisive, controversial and backwards looking movements in American Politics. This ineptitude of the American Congress has led to this place, not Obama.
