Game freeze.

So, i decided to give Salem another go, but the game freezes shortly after I press the Create character button.
This started after I was looking in the options menu then click on .... shading? something along those lines. Then the game frozen got an error saying my display drivers did something (cant recall the text word for word) Ever since then I cannot get past like 5 seconds after loading into the game. I tried clearing my java cache in hopes it might delete the saved setting, but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Nevermind, found the updater file. When that was finished it started working.
