Snake attacked up a cliff

Is it a known problem that Snakes can bite a player high up on a cliff?

Using a slingshot to agro a snake, snake moved to bottom of cliff, and bit me at the top of cliff. Hard lesson learned, doesn't seem right. Minor issue.

Several things currently only include planar distance (not taking height into account). Attack moves are one, lifting things is another (there's a bug around that will let you lift liftables over cliffs).

This should probably go either on the bugtracker or on the bug subforum.
