Ancestry and keys

I still don't understand how this works. If I die and my new character inherits my old claim, how do I go about giving him the keys for the gates, if you have to attune them to him? I read the guides on keys and all that I just cant figure this out. If there is another thread on this please link it because I could not find one on the forum. Thanks in advance.
