Tree walls & gates (what should I do)

Hi, I'm building a tree wall around my wall and I didn't plant any trees in front of the gates because I want to go through them. Naturally, this becomes a weak point. What do you recommend that I build in front of the gates?
I have a town bell, so I could build it during the siege as I would get a 20 hour warning. I've thought about placing a kiln in front of each gate. But then the attackers would be able to double team it. Is there anything strong that I can build, which takes up 1 tile?

Anyway, what is recommended that I do in this situation?

Just stack 3-4 gates 6 tiles apart. If that's too inconvenient, double tree wall, with inner and outer gate on opposite sides of the base.

I have a certain setup and I'm not looking to change it drastically with major building efforts. I'm already building at my max. I would just like to know what is best in this situation.

So, how would you cover up the 2 slots in front of a gate?

With Braziers. They are easy to build and repair while taking a bit to destroy and they attack your enemies.
Why did you go through all or the effort to build a tree wall without planning what to do with your gate?

Hm, OK. But that would be a waste of 4-8 iron bars per gate.
Is there anything else I can build that would be good?

Because it still protects all the non-gate/wall tiles.

Extend tree wall outside your gates and make a z-shaped entrance, so they have less bashing time on the gate. Kinda inconvenient for walking through all the time, but them's the breaks.

Your tree wall will protect your walls but without a better system of gates it wont protect whats inside the walls, if you wont build a series a gates all a tree wall does is allow you to concentrate Braziers around your gate. If you don't have enough resources to build a couple of braziers and have the Iron to repair them its not likely your town is worth building a trial by fire and take humour damage to raid, unless you pissed someone off.

What better system of gates, Darknacht? Have you got any screenshots of how you did it?

Do this:
Potjeh wrote:Just stack 3-4 gates 6 tiles apart. If that's too inconvenient, double tree wall, with inner and outer gate on opposite sides of the base.
