I just created a new account today to check on the issue. I only had to accept the EULA at the account creation screen. Other than responding to the confirmation email, there were no other actions I needed to take in order to log into the game with both the vanilla client and Ender client.
I think the best immediate solution for you is to create another new account and see if that makes a difference. If you continue to have a problem then you can pursue other troubleshooting methods, etc. Otherwise, based on my single effort and the comments here, the problem does not appear to be universal.
