Postby Dever » Thu Jul 18, 2013 10:21 pm

I've got a problem, when I was teleporting from Boston to my homestead, client shutdowned with an error. And when I launched client again and chose my character, I recived the message that my posion isn't avilable and I should teleport with loosing my inventory! But I've just made some purchase.

You can only do what it said and teleport the port back to Boston or wait a little bit and maybe it will let you get back in. It does that (to me atleast) whenever you do not log out properly, ie...getting an error and having to restart the client.

My game freezes up a lot, so I get this all the time.

if you try later it should eventually be fine. I get that message regularly, I don't think I've ever had to lose my items over it. you just have to be patient.

ok i've got it, but the thing I'd like to know is - are there any GMs or admins in game? or some kind of maintenance? or players left on their own with their dumb problems?

devs can't / won't help you with this.

As said before, it's likely that in this case, when it happens when teleporting to or from boston, you will be able to log in if you try again a few moments later.
If you still can't log in, then there's an object blocking the spot your character is trying to log into. In that case, there's nothing to be done, except log in, and see if you can retrieve your items, which will have dropped on the ground where your character logged out.

NB. If the crash happened before your char teleported out (still in Boston), there might just be another player standing at the spot. Just try a few times.
Did Claeyt shut up yet?
WARNING: berrymash laxatives can cause your character to explode violently, after eating chymically unstable foods.

Depends on what the issue is and what the items are. If you're speaking of items you just purchased with silver (player stalls, Company Store), then no, the devs usually won't intervene. The lost inventory is there to discourage players from using disconnects and other means to port home with goods where they normally couldn't. If you purchased items and were trying to retrieve them out of your mailbox, then you might get a replacement. The best thing to do is ask (I suggest via PM to jorb.)

Right now, we only have jorb to resolve customer service issues in game. If there comes a time when income is healthy enough, Seatribe might hire another person through Paradox to do GM stuff, but that's probably a while off. (FYI, this is purely my speculation here.)

Otherwise, the other folks have it right. If you disconnect, crash, log out, etc in Boston, it can be a busy place and another person can be standing where you were or someone dropped something there you can't log in on and you have to wait. My additional suggestion is to remember almost exactly where you were and make a "town alt" to look at where you logged out to see if the area is busy or not. Make sure to log this alt out somewhere away from the busy part of town, though, so you're not likely to have two characters that can't log in.
