Looks pretty interesting but everything I read seems to reference that the leveling system, quest system, and general "things to do" have not been implemented. Then again most the reviews were pretty old. I'd be curious if a game like that emerges that provides content OTHER than just shooting other players each time you spawn. If not its just counter-Strike with some zombie NPC's to me.

I was in the very first wave of warz players and it had a lot of flaws. Some examples I can think of:

People camping the spawn and instakilling new people for their backpacks/inventories
You have to wait 1 real life hour to play again after your character died (usually instant, see above)
There were bots already and people would no scope you from insane distances
Lack of resources on all maps so it's hard to ever get anywhere
The zombies are slow but are incredibly persistent, if you can't kill one yet (the majority of your early game) you're either dead, or you run for ages hoping you don't run into another one in your haste

On top of this, it felt very slow and choppy

I heard a lot of really negative feedback about it in the vein of what Coles is describing, but also a lot of controversy around the launch (I.e. the developer listing features on Steam that weren't even in the game) which put me off.

I've heard really good things about the Arma mod Day Z though and it's getting a standalone here soon.

That main dev drove off people by the 100s. Check out the crazy ass **** he has done. People got refunds in waves.

I'd just play the dayz origins mod for arma 2. You can build houses and there's a leveling system. It's way better then warz

sack of ****, played it at the start of alpha thru to beta and couldn't find the urge to play it anymore. then they screwed everyone over with private servers and pricing, gc (in-game currency), p2instaRevive etc. it's a nice game visually and its more arcadey compared to say dayz. I won't lie I did have some fun playing with friends being bandits killing for hammers and granola's!

if you enjoy running around the world for hours upon hours looking for a gun only to be shot by some sniping hillbilly fagot camping towns/safe-zones then go ahead give it a go.

edit: think i paid £25 quid for it back when you got early access to alpha. only a week ago on steam it was 2,49 :geek:

Most of those things is improved (I think)...

1. camping is not possible, if you are too long in one area you get ban from server, there is 90+ servers for EU, so if you afraid of snipers go to server with 10 people online,
2. 1h wait is way better than in perma death character delete mechanic;)
3. Haven't seen any bots, but seen many bans :)
4. Lots of resources, just need to know where to look... my last night single run to small town gave me 30+ items ~20kg, at day you find 1/3 of that in same place, but killing zombies at night is few times harder or impossible (without nightvision) if you don't know area,
5. zombies quit chasing you if you run away for some distance (or in large town go to first floor and jump from window:)) and you can kill even 10 zombies at once with just a bat (easy to find), with katana or metal bat you can clear entire town,
