It is not, and I have absolutely no idea what would cause that to happen. :)

Are you sure you haven't just accidentally activated caps lock or something?

caps lock shouldnt affect the number keys above the letters.

Windows sticky keys would affect it.

And num lock would affect if you are using the num pad on the right side of the keyboard (assuming you dont have a mini keyboard that omits that num pad)

Hmm long time ago, when I switched from default client to Ender's, my first action bar landed as second one in Ender. Maybe if you set up your first action bar in Ender's client and then switch back to default client it's no longer first action bar?
