What did they spend all of it on, and how much was it?

What's the name of your guild? :D

The bigger thing is that some guilds have their own review sites, hopefully you've reviewed it and told people about it. It's a tiny, tiny game but fun. Maybe one of them will try it.

too true, I doubt if Seatribes looking for the WoW market. But crafting games are pretty fun also.

The problem for them though, is to keep players playing. Salem isn't like other games, that you just pop in, get thrown in action, and doesn't take investment. It's hard to keep a zerg running. That's part of the reason the goons fell apart, people got too bored and quit.

Minecraft had Underground (Shining Force didn't seem fitting in Minecraft)

MY Shining Force exists when someone needs to be taken down hence "Shining Force" the good guys as it were. My Shining Force is an MMORPG grou, apprently some other Shining Force Guilds I do not own are also are in MMORPGs.

Not many games had permadeath when I 1st made Shining Force (none that I saw back then anyway. Do I care for permadeath, not really, I could care less, just an excuse for wanna be trollers to kill new players (or everybody for that matter) for the joy of making them leave (sound familiar?).

Permadeath games brings out the stated above people the most.

Care to share what bait and pole you used, what type of area you caught it in, and what actions you caught it with? :D

It's a troll they were dropped during the dev event. Candy Gang got two of them.

He's showing the jellyfish, not the mask tho? Did they drop the jellyfish as well then? I didn't see any of those just the masks.

They dropped jelly fish as well as masks.

Pfft.
First of all, every person I've met in the wilderness were friendly. (in Jamestown and Roanoke)
If your character gets killed in game it's usually your own fault (rookie base) or dumb luck.
Why? Permadeath means: be on your toes, not trollers paradise. If you build a base, do it "by the book" and don't go bananas with it (not walling and claiming it and not making any braziers while HOPING it's there next time you log in).
If your base is constantly harassed, fight back or move. If you are killed, make a new character (and possibly move).
Map is HUGE and relocating far enough keeps that raider away from you.
No matter how well you protect yourself or base, there's always a chance you'll get raided and/or killed.

I can apply a thing I learned in army (whoooop) in this game.
You can't really stop the enemy from invading, but you can damn well make it really hard for them so they'll think twice if it's worth the effort.

Somebody said (take credit now ;)) that in this game characters are not persons, they are tools. You should treat them as such and you'll accept their future deaths better..

Maybe what I'm trying to say here is that this game is not for everyone.
Huge learning curve, permadeath and waiting days for timber piles to dry and crops to grow can be frustrating if you've used to get everything instantly..

Edit: I also played Minecraft from Alpha and I tell you, I couldn't bring anything from that game to this game..

*reads* I never said Minecraft would bring anything to this game, I simply said I had a Guild there. I am quite aware what permanent death is and you really only need common sense to survive. Yes I know you need MORE then common sense, but common sense is needed to start off. I read it takes a week for a tree to grow, a week for drying timber piles, all in all sounds rough I am aware (I do read up on whats what, and if I need something specific, I ask). However it be rude to not thank you for sending some incentive in helping so I gladly accept the advice you gave with a thank you.

Ill say what I think is on many minds;
You in?
Your guild in?
When is the action going to start?

People on this forum, as you might have noticed, have a knack for action and drama. Now the stage is set, the drama is set, the players are all wound up...

Don't you leave now... Its rude to "pre-ejac" and leave us to fix ourselves. (Excuse me for the lack of better words)

I noticed, they made my flashy entrance a bit...more then I predicted it to be. And when it comes to my Shining Force, in most cases its a new group each time (just like the game! Well except same leader), only a few come with me to games, but if needed, I COULD try summoning the "Veterans", I of course can't FORCE (pun!) them, but I could ask them. Who wants to be forced to do anything :P. That is if I need them to join me.

As far as joining, I am still in debate of this, however as each days go I am leaning towards joining, but I can't right at this very moment, stuff to do in the real world (and among other things which I won't say at this time). I'll still be in the forums until the time comes though, and continue being entertaining :D

...That can't be what I think that....*checks word* ...Yup...well that's just gross.

So basically, we'll have words skirmishes until you people actually play the game. Somehow the image of trench warfare pops in mind and here, you are a german officier shouting over the trench to your british enemy : "Hey you, we are going to shell you, just wait, we don't have enough ammo now but when we do, we will drop some over your heads. By god, here's our artillery positions, check it out. *throws a wine bottle with map over the trench*. There, just wait and see!"
