No Hope For Pacifists?

Postby OGRastamon » Tue Apr 23, 2013 11:58 am

I don't have the strength, weapons or abilities yet to fight so I do a lot of running. I've never been PK'd but having been knocked out several times by snakes and bears I know that if I ever meet an aggressive player that I'm toast. Well it's actually not fair to compare as another player will be limited by their abilities in catching me but mobs seem to have no such limitations. An aggro snake can go anywhere you can go and FASTER. What is the key to surviving when animals attack?

First and foremost go get Enders client (check the Artifice & Arcana section of the forum), the creatures will show up on your mini map so you don't run anywhere near them in the first place.
Second: Swim across a stream if you can, none will follow.
Third: Use skills like Wander or Run to out run creatures like snakes, if you have them.
Those 3 things should help you long enough to raise your humors through gluttony so you can fight back and take a bit of damage. Once you get anti-venom the fear of snakes goes away :)

What server are you on?

The populations are low enough and factions have settled down where it is quite possible to live a life without ever having to fight another player. Just log out of the game before they get to you (if you aren't in combat).

If you are on Plymouth: Pay the treaty or you will lose your base
If you are on Roanoke: Make a home south of Roanoke NOT north or north west
If you are on Jamestown: Enjoy

I thought the King of Jamestown was collecting tributes. Of course, there's only one of him vs a whole town of RPers.

If you're in Jamestown, you're lucky. Because althought i pass near to big and seems crowded places nobody attacked me yet. I can say almost i went everywhere which is near to Jamestown. Result is positive :) don't worry anything except wild animals

Also, if in combat with an animal click the icon in the top right corner (two swords) and one will become an olive branch, meaning you have no bad intent, and it might, MIGHT, make the animal give up sooner. Best of luck and hope you enjoy :D

I have a bad habit of attacking animals, healing in my house with passive clicked until combat goes off and I heal, then coming out, hitting them and hidding again. works pretty well as long as its not a bear or a deer.
here to have fun. and horde turkey feathers. Jamestown.

So basically the best place for pacifists who want to see how the game works and see how far they can get without being ruined for not joining a tribe is Jamestown?

The OP mentions being a pacifist and not wanting to attack animals, if you're this kind of pacifist you are probably in the wrong game.

If you just mean a Pacifist as in not wanting to attack or deal with being attacked by other players then again you are probably in the wrong game.

However I hear Jamestown is pretty tame, but has its own dangers, as is the nature of this game.

There are a lot of peaceful people on Jamestown but you still have to be careful, I have been murdered twice and plenty of people get raided, but if you're careful and play smart you should be fine here.
