Meal System Idea

Currently gluttony system is affected by enourmous grinding of single type of dishes. It's the most boring and pain in the ass part of game (in my opinion). I like cooking, but when i have to grind it so much it start to be annoying. As a reference i can say that i leveled up one 300+ character and almost dozen 150+ alts.

I always think that quality should be better that quanity, so in conclussion i found simple conclussion.

I called it Meal System.

All you need to start is Kitchen Table (can be build in every house-type building) which give you possibility to preparing meals.
Preparing meals mean that you can combine 2-5 single food item into one Meal which is super item in gluttony mode.

For example:.
Making Meal from 2 Cabbage Rolls give you one item which gluttony values are summary of all ingredients (Cabbage Rolls+Cabbage Rolls)

It'll make a trading much simpler, there'll be Blood Meals, Phlegm Meals, YB Meals and BB Meals (high or low values) rather than very much ****** foods.

Of course it need to be nerfed.
- It is possible to eat Meal only once per Gluttony Stage and only at the begining.
- Eating Meals give you Overstuffed debuff, which can be lowered by working and waiting. If your Overstuffed debuff is in +75% you can't eat anything without gluttony system (which means you can't regen your humours untill you work or wait for a while) , when it's 100% you can't get into Guttony System.
- Meals made by the same type of food will give much less gluttony points than Meals made by various food. (like inspirations, when you use 2 the same item Meal provide only 75% it's original values, 3 - 50% etc.).
- Meals give you very high invariance, which prevent you to eat something after Meal.

It made that you have to use various food items and you have to play character rather than use cirles like log-in->eat->log out.

In the further development it is possible to add bonuses like:
- M-M-M-Meaty! - +15% Blood values for Meal which contain only meat dishes.
- Herbivorous - +10% BB and +10% Phlegm values for Meal without peace of meat in it.
- BigMeal - +5% all values for 5 ingredients Meal.

Also there could be another label next to already existing recipes like: "Main course", "Starter", "Drink", "Soup" and "Dessert".
And of course it'll give another bonus:
- Perfect Set - +10% all values for making Meal with all recipes types.
- Candy Boy - +20% to Phlegm for 5xDessert Meal.

etc.

I'm looking for critique and hate :).

I like the idea with combining dishes into meal with invariance penalty and "Main course", "Starter", "Drink", "Soup" and "Dessert" parts.

But I think it's a bit of overkill for a mechanic which essentialy is about increasing one of four stats. Maybe some additional functionality for food? And for the humours while we are at it

good idea to prevent super-stupid grinding ^^

your suggestion is right, that will help a lot gluttoning less food do allow all to reach decent humors ^^

I like what your idea of the meal system. Along the same lines how about power drink options. Why not allow the press for seeds to press food into liquid. Craft a canteen from iron or some other metal to store it in. Then be able to equip this on your character.

Idea of making food with better gluttony values is great, but buffs, debuffs, stages to most complicated mechanic in game can make gluttony even more hard to understand by new people. Maybe table and house design (we have few upgrades for interiors) could give bonus like in hnh?

I am still on idea that gluttony should work like inspirationals mechanic and that we don't need arcade mode on it.
While eating you should level up few biles at same time, of course food that gives values to many biles should be weaker than single bile food.
After we get biles gluttony bar full we can click level up and all biles that had full bar are +1.

And if I have 50 blood and 100 YB to rise blood I should fill this bar only upto 50 (system that is right now was good to stop grinding bashers with 5 blood & YB and 300 phlegm & BB, but now when we have perma brazier dmg and critical hits it is no longer needed to keep it, imo it is one more hard thing for new people, because at beggining they don't have food for every bile).

How about foods of certain types would complement one another? They can be arranged in any course of the meal. This goes for drinks-food as well.
We make sword stone for keeper and pull they do it and excalibur come out. have no make stone to for sword we make sword box for sword to put sword in for sword. -Moniker (Anarchy online)

I love it.

Developers explained that Gluttony is a little bit to boring. Your suggestion should add a little spice to it.

Actually, after giving it a little thought...
Think of it as of different "levels" of gluttony. As a newbie you start with foraged foods. Then you move on to meat and farmed food. Then to higher tier of farmed foods. And when that's not enough you start combining food into meals.

Obviously, meals are meant then for higher level players.

and usable in some kind of "1 time go" that will give (as example) 150 for a humor, but you can eat only 1 per run
