Questions from newbie

Postby Meslas » Sun Jun 02, 2013 6:54 am

Hi :)

1. How do I get more black bite? It gets down doing nothing, I need it for learning skills.
2. What are criminal acts? How to make crimes?
3. Is it possible to destroy a wall(break in) in a claimed land?
4. How huge is the world? I never met another player on Roanoke.
5. How to make ground very flat, to start settling?
6. How to get food easily? Its very boring to walk around for hours.

Thanks in advance.

Hello there! Neiroshop shall help out for free! further inquiries shall require a small fee of 1silver.

i suggest looking at this thread: http://forum.salemthegame.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=181

1.Eating food. Increasing biles by filling your biles then clicking the 2 forks and eating mass amounts of food in Gluttony mode. here is an explanation of gluttony http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Gluttony

2.Criminal acts are stealing, trespassing, assaulting other players, destroying things and murdering other players. You need to activate the criminal mode by clicking it in the adventure menu. Beware though it is not a very safe thing to do for a newbie.

3. Yes if you have criminal acts on and the required phlegm to destroy it. (there is another way by building a same kind of wall next to it and destroying it outside the claim the splash damage will hurt the claimed wall.)

4.The world map is quite huge. The map so far uncovered can be found here : http://salem.comlu.com/maps.php?roa

5.You use digging. For that you will require a shovel either wooden or metal and then press the dig button in Adventure menu. Hold ctrl and click on the area you wish to flatten. Holding ctrl when throwing dirt flattens that as well.

6.Foraging is a big part of the game. There is multiple things however you can do without walking around. Fishing, Farming and Turkeys. You will probably need to have settled first for the later two.

Have a good day and welcome to salem.

1. It's "Bile" and you need to get appropriate food (in the beginning probably blackberries, witch's hats are better but poisonous). Notice the 4 rows/4 coloums in the food tooltip? Last coloumn is black bile, so get food with high numbers there, then eat anything until all bars are full and start gluttoning your black bile food by clicking the forks. Fishing and cooking fish can get you early yellow and black bile food, too.
2. You need the appropriate skills first, like larceny. You can steal unclaimed stuff though and breaking walls not on claimed territory isn't a crime either. Yes, claims are important to protect your stuff.
3. Yes, you need high phlegm for the tougher walls though and if it is on claimed land you'll need the trespassing skill. Btw. don't do crimes until you learn more about the game. (Again, taking unclaimed stuff is not a crime.)
4. You can walk straight ahead for days. If you want to meet people, try obvious settling places like rivers next to huge forests, etc. Some of them might be very unfriendly, so beware.
5. Dig. Digging takes a lot of phlegm, though technically you can dig with your bare hands it can take a while. So get a shovel! You don't need to flatten everything, just where you want your buildings.
6. Acquiring food is the central element of Salem. Hunting and farming are probably best, but foraging can be rewarding, too. Activate "Foraging" and learn the appropriate skills (like "botany") to increase the yield.
