i would but i have to many irons in the fire to play two nearly identical games (both requiring a large time investment to play at a competitive level), i would consider being a part of such a project but i do not have time to start it up.

Yeah the game with 50 people on a server is a much better choice

eh, i like salem better than haven. some aspects of both games i like better than the others take, but overall salem is a better game. haven will have a 6 week population boost like it always does after a reset and then it will be back to normal.

normal being laggy, buggy, heavily botted, heavily zerged and with a fresh new array of "client mods" that would be considered hacks in every other game, some of whom are happy to yoink account details.

So finally the anti-salem faction has succeeded - they have the devs back where they want them to be.

That`s how it worked:
1) Piss of new players by explaining them "...then Salem is no game for you" in the forums
2) Piss of new players by insulting them in forums
3) Piss of new ideas who could make Salem a game for a large number of players, so the devs could earn their money
4) Make sure Salem is going to be H&H with better graphics (just in case)
5) Kill all remaining new players which couldn`t learn the new game mechanics as fast as the H&H veterans or don`t have enough time to play on a competitive level. They are idiots anyway.
6) Sabotage any advertising live stream
7) Post a population tracker and use the declining number of players to kill the last remaining new ideas or the first sign of hope
8) Call devs idiots because no one plays their game
9) Happiness and Joy to everyone coming back to the good, old H&H - welcome back devs - we love you so much!

And will still have more pop then salem. but yeah there are things i like better from both also

In fairness, if salem had a bigger player base the same kind of thing would probably happen with clients (and probably does in secret to an extent). Though even still, in a month i could see havens population sitting at double what it normally does. It took more then a year and a lagpocalypse that lasted 2+ months for it's population to drop below like 300-400 people on at all times

Can there be a competitive level when there is noone competing?

there is nobody competing because i killed off all of the competitors (have taken out over a dozen established raider camps of 3+ raiders and several dozen 1 and 2 packs of generic thieves along with eliminating all of the other known "titans" on the server since it launched), if no new threats emerge i plan to quietly solidify my position so i can withstand the onslaught of whatever zergforce shows up to ***** with me when cross server travel opens.

may eventually want to try a change of pace and assimilate the entire server into one massive town using the join or die method, but thats down the road a ways.

Jorb mentioned wiping the map in the "wee hours" of sunday night, Swedish time, so that's about 5/6 hours from now.
