What kind of clothes will get you killed?

What kind of clothes can you run around in that will get you killed? Is it only the ones that you buy with real money? Will a snakeskin coat get you killed etc?

Any type of money equipment will draw more attention to raiders etc, people might even sell you tracked goods so they can murder you.

Altough the most people don't murder for no reason, the best way to stay alive is keep your pilgrim clothes

As soon as you start to look decent enough to fight you will die.

For example: this dude aint a starter nor a pro, i woudn't risk it to fight a pro nor i woudn't try to kill a dude in pilgrim clothes.

So saving up snakeskins for a snakeskin coat would probably be a bad idea until I'm higher level?

The purpose of clothes is to carry slotted artifacts. If you have the proficiency levels to slot artifacts into a snakeskin coat then making one is a good idea. If you don't yet have the money for a pclaim, you probably also don't have the proficiency level needed to slot artifacts into the coat. In that case you're better off selling the skins.

Those are really easy to get if you forage enough. Wear what you want but don't get attached lol.

All cash shop only clothing will mark you KOS for a lot of people.
Clothes needing sea island cotton in their crafting recipe are also valued highwayman loot.

Then again, there's also people who just kill you, regardless of clothing.

Just log out whenever you see a red player dot on your minimap.
Did Claeyt shut up yet?

Snakeskin coat was the first cloth that I ever crafted in this game. I just found the skins in the tree trunks while walking around. I wore it with pride for a couple of weeks until I found out I can slot it and I broke all three slots. If the clothes alone would have got me killed, the killer would only rob me of some sticks and stones, so not worth the trouble. I don't think cloth is a sign of wealth, as everyone can craft unsocketed cloth.

ah, but wearing a full highlander or pope set DOES hint towards a well-established base with free time to spend on fancy pants.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.
