Question on albemic

Does purity on items that have no more chymical instability still keep decreasing in an albemic, or does the purity decrease stop after the chymical instability is gone?

From what I've noticed purity keeps going down even after all instability has been removed. Not sure if it's intentional or not.

The alembic can be destroyed once instability is removed, it works the exact opposite of other devices with stability. (I've lost a few.)
