I have no problem with espionage, however the limited options available to us for managing the risks prevent the recruitment of newbies. I don't know how many players enjoy an aspect of the game, wish to specialise, but are forced to endure aspects of the game they find unplayable because they have to hermit or join a town of noobs run by noobs. Both options are equally unsatisfactory.

Maybe that statement deserves some flame because players should be tougher and more persistant, however I would have no problem recruiting players who wish to specialise and avoid aspects they don't enjoy because as part of a group that is a constructive playstyle.

Will the new digging thing you are working on be available for Ender's client as well?

All due respect, but the vanilla client camera perspective is just unplayable.
I am not saying that to troll, or nag, or whatever.
But it really induces motion sickness and headaches.
Did Claeyt shut up yet?

Yeah we need purity for water... We cant do **** with water being such a huge factor in baking, gardening, growing trees, pretty much everything relies on it some how.

I think water purity is okay.. Wells shouldnt offer purity water as much as stone and granite boulders don't. Even if they do.. Just consider the effect on the clay/brick inspirationals.. a golum of prague or brick of sodom and gommorah on 30% water?? IF there IS high purity water (>10%) is this not a hugely advantageous resource? More so than anything else in the game

It would be pretty cool in my opinion if water purity was managed via the purity of the well drawing it. I share that opinion for copper and iron mines, and I think we should be able to build mines on nodes of clay and lime and improve them in a similar fashion. I don't like the idea of rebuilding infrastructure, so I'd prefer a method of enhancing infrastructure instead, and a visual indication of how awesome infrastructure is would be nice as well. I like the idea of taking a portion of the map and enhancing it, I just wish it were a little easier to hold territory. This kind of leads into (hopefully) faction claims someday. Of course there is so much testing to be done in that regard, even as things are currently, and player count is a major hindrance.

Anyway, I'm happy to wait for most of this stuff. We can increase purity now for a bit of extra modifier but nothing too extreme, and the new tier bonuses give that a very nice nudge. If the purity system is going to become as marvelous as we are promised then it's possible the game just isn't ready for it yet, there could be a lot more work to be done in other areas to support it properly, and I'd rather wait than have another botched job, which will upset people even more when the devs eventually "fix" it again.

Tracking someone real name or address is RL issue.

That has nothing to do with spying. Do not use out of game examples involving a person who has never even played Salem. Mvpeh did that for personal reasons since the guy was essentially stealing his identity and trying to make him look bad. This example means absolutely nothing in relation to spying on Salem since you're basically saying that "people on the internet sometimes try to find other people on the internet". The guy just so happened to be playing Salem but Mvpeh's actions had nothing to do with Salem really, the guy had been doing that type of thing to him before.

Can a moderator clean up the derails and issue warnings to offenders who should by now know better than to let things carry on this far away from the subject of the thread?

Yeah, I guess we should have taken the discussion about villages into another thread. Sorry for that.
