Splash damage.

Postby Judaism » Tue May 14, 2013 10:56 pm

I was testing some stuff after the recent report.

What about this:

after destroying 1 wall:

is this intended ?

Any other object blocks the splash damage, this makes tree walls really weak.

not sure what the bug is here. the splash can affect a number of tiles within range. In this case the second post was in range of the splash from the first. The tree is irrelevant since it is not a wall type.

Thanks, for me it is a big issue, i did expected the tree's would block the splash damage.

I mean if a simple building post (pile of wood) can block it and a shift fence, why shoudn't a tree block the splash damage ?

I wasn't aware objects could block splash damage other than greater wall types. To me that sounds like an exploitable bug.

I wasn't aware that walls blocked splash damage.

Tree walls aren't meant to be "strong" or "weak." They're meant to be a way to slow raiders down for really cheap as it's easier to grow a tree than to actually build a wall. Add in that it can potentially take more time to cut the tree down and remove the stump than break through a wall. (Still an unintentional mechanic, I think, and just a matter of time before it sees some sort of nerf.)
