Gelatinous Lard

Postby er-queent8r » Tue Apr 30, 2013 11:03 pm

Has anyone else noticed the Gelatinous Lard isn't being created when cooking? I was generating a good amount of this but since the last patch it seems less.

It's like Judaism says, it's just a bit of bad luck. If you really need some, just cook more food :)

Yes probably a run of bad luck

Personally I wish different recipes had different chances of producing gelatinous lard - like recipes with nice fatty meat cuts should have a higher chance than say lean cooking fish or recipes involving plant material.

But alas, there are alot more important changes to hope for :)

Seems normal to me.

The other week I made about 600 cabbage crumbs and yielded ~15 or so lards.

i think a deer normally give a lard, if you find a deer, butch it all and then split all the meat... the mass of shreds will be cooked and very nice lard appear

It's not determined by the type of meat cooked; it all comes down to chance/luck.

So if you follow the logic Pjotr84 is right. Turn everything into shreds and you have a large amount of meat to cook...so more chances to get a lard.

The wiki says that cooking sizzled slugs has a 10% Chance of yielding a lard - yet i have not been able to confirm this information myself. In my experience cooking sizzled slugs has the same chance of yield as any other cookable food and there the yield rate is definitely much smaller than 10 % . On the other hand i have not cooked enough slugs to make a valid statement about that. Whats your experience ? is the wiki right on that or not ?
