After raising let say the 1st bar to 100, and I start to plant cereal for barley.
Does the 1st bar dropped after I harvest?
Then I have to plant cabbage once in a while to keep the 1st bar full to keep my barley?
Thanks, I can never understand agriculture very well....

Yeah, you'll lose 5% each harvest. If you do one harvest of cereal, then one harvest of cabbage and so on you can keep making barley ad infinitum without further hay investment.

This is one of the most useful images from Sevenless guide. Learn it by heart / bookmark it, and you'll never push the wrong influence again.

Addendum: IIRC, corn uses cabbage and cotton influence

That chart is very helpful for a visual on this system. It's tough to wrap your head around at first, but now I understand what I should be pushing influence wise to get tier 2 stuff. Looks like I'll be making some barley soon to test it out.

1k influence is enough to get 100% in one harvest correct? So with two harvest at 1k influence each bar you should have tier 3 field?

Yep. You only need a total of 150 for both bars to produce tier 3, but the higher you can keep them, the better off you'll be maintaining the field's production tier.

I do not completely agree with you here MagicMan.
Sure, you can get tier 3 products from having 150 total in the two bars.
However, this will give you maybe 10% tier 3, and 90% tier 2 on harvest.
You really want to push the influence total to as close as 200 as you can go (195).
That way, you'll get mostly tier 3 products, and hardly any tier 2.
So it's not as much as for maintenance purposes that you want to get as high as possible, but rather for tier 3 yield.

Oh wow, so you actually benefit more T3 items the higher influence the bar is? So having a newb establishment, I should take the time now to boost as much influence as I can stand? I live in a heavily grass populated area, so between me and my son we could probably score a ton of grass per field. I just wasnt sure if there was any benefit to going above 100, or that you could even get it above that. Without Three-field system how much grass is that for 200? Im at 865% ( im guessing that 200 is equal to 2k influence) on around 65 pcs of hay.

Thanks for answering my question btw, sorry if I hijacked this thread, but its hard to find information on these forums.. there tends to be alot of raging/crying/nerdrage in between the good stuff.

Hold on, I think you misunderstand a bit.
You cannot go beyond 100 on a single bar.
However, tier 3 products need more than one bar. Look at sevenless graph, there's a plus sign between the two coloured arrows that point to the tier 3 products. That means you need those two colours of influence. And those two bars added together should be at least 150, preferably 195. So that could be two bars at 75, or one bar at 100, the other at 50, etc.

Example: To get wheat (tier 3 cereals), you need (pumpkin influence + cabbage influence >150)
