Farming and such, gathering some info.

Postby wiatrak » Sat May 11, 2013 9:06 pm

Well i was very suprised that i harvested 10% output from 40% seeds + 3% humus(expected it to be ~3% max), wanted to feel like "IMPOORNOOBICANTCATCHTITANS!!!!!1111ONE".
My previous harvests was around 5%(using 90+% seeds).

So my questions:
1. Did i just get uber lucky on RNG?
2. Did the seeds played a big role there?(my answer was 'NO' till this harvest)
3. Was there sneaky patch improving farming a little?

Looking for your feedback on this!
To precise, i would like to know: input seeds + humus and the output from that, maybe we can get some formula's for farming.

It's the same principle i keep shouting on the worm thread, I think. Keep the disparity between seeds and humus within a reasonable range and your results will be better. Obviously 90% + 3% < 40% + 3%. Same thing for 90% worms. I remember some of your first experiments that yielded 32.7 element humus, while my 38 lead worms in a bin made from 30 lead boards yield pretty much the same humus. 32.7 or so lead. So yeah, keep teh disparity low and reap some decent rewards :)
Exactly 6.022 x 10^23 worth of Lach molecules.

Farming is broken now thanks to jortard.

200+ fields with humus > 20% of the seed plant results in the majority of crops to lower.

Enjoy making 10% stuff in server reset.

Game sucks now.

isn't going to be a reset and once water purity plus alchemy is fleshed out more i highly doubt 10% will be the cap for farmed food =P

Yes indeed. There's just too many things dragging purity down. And as a non-mathematician, I can't understand how on earth better humus doesn't make better crops, as in the OP's example
Did Claeyt shut up yet?

Yea, Compost bin hardly softcaps the humus, im talking now about the result that we can get from the humus we produce(im getting low on my HP humus thats why im trying to understand that :P).
