Turkey the magic killer

Postby Jakov » Thu May 09, 2013 9:33 pm

I just want to know, are turkeys bugged? I killed one, picked up and... Surprise! I died! What is wrong with it? It's my second dead by bug today... It's quite annoying... I spend much time, looking for some goods that I can sell, because I need money... When I was hunting deers, one blocked by me, magicaly go trought me, and rush. Dead, almost full backack lost. Now I just wanted to took few turkeys home for food - killed one, with 14 hp last, picked and... Died... Next time almost full backack lost. Where is problem? Is hunting just extremly bugged and I should stop doing it?

1. You didn't die, you were only knocked out. If you had died your character would be gone.
2. What humour was depleted when you were knocked out?

1. Oh, ok. But everyone know about what I'm talking. I saw, that green went to 0. But I don't know why. I just looked on humours to see what's going on and green was 0. I din't studied anything or so... Anyway, it is still better, than situation that I had few days ago... Just was knocked out, resp and immediatly I got knocked out next more time :P

it sounds to me like you are hunting in the darkness, where there is a progressively stronger decay on your black bile (the green bar) the further you explore into it. When it degrades down to 0, you get knocked out. Studying things while in the darkness may help bring on this mechanic faster than you would think.

Check if you are in Darkness. Do you notice that all your humors drain a small amount over time in the areas you were in? If you are using Ender's Client, use ctrl-D to open the Darkness tool. If Elevation is below 56.00, then you are in Darkness and susceptible to humor drain and KO if any of them fall to ZERO.

edit: too slow :)

Or there was a bear not far from you, and you had the fear debuff which drains your black bile aswell.

Studying will not drain your black bile to 0. But close to it.
Bear fear debuff or darkness or blazing brazier can drain your black bile to 0 ... and knock you out.

I was not in the darkness :) But yes, there was bear... But I didn't fight with him, just saw. But when I met turkeys I was far away from it. So what's up with that? Seeing bear = dead? xD

You saw the bear, and you got a fear debuff which drains black bile the severity of which depends on how many charges of fear debuff you have accumulated. A low humour character will always KO even from one charge of fear. It was just coincidental that it happened right when you picked up a KO'd turkey.

Or maybe you're the only player ever to have gotten fear from a turkey. Wimp.
