How many Braziers?

Just build like this: Tree wall-brazier wall-stone wall-brazier wall.

I appreciate the response.. but I have no intention of building like that... I have wandered around enough to see that ANY defense is surmountable... I'm not trying to challenge the skills of the highly skilled... merely want to dissuade the efforts of the mildly-skilled.. lol...

I refuse to turn my homestead into a compound. My fence is split-rail.. and always will be.. I like the look of it... My 'stead is small enough that all of my braziers overlap about 90%, so if you come for a visit, expect 6 Braziers to welcome you (for now)... I keep most of my valuables on my alt, so even if someone gets in.. there's not much to steal...

Why even make braziers if you are going to keep the split rail? Just alt store your goods and have fun.

I guess you are right, becaus if you overdo it the raiders might think you have something useful in your base. Besides you will need a town bell sooner or later.

Exactly what I was thinking... I have 7 now that all basically overlap... hopefully thats enough to deter the local riff-raff...

7 braziers will still hurt your avarage player fast, ticking close to 10~ BB damage every 1-2s or so, so even a lone 100 bile char would not really want to risk more than going lower than 40BB, because if a crit happens it takes -30 to all biles(30%) and you need room to run off, so they can take a maximum of 60~ damage, so he would only be able to last 5-10seconds on your claim after he smash's your simple fence.

Get 15 braziers if you can in your little area, and enjoy as they will be required to bring at least 1 x 300+ bile char to tank, then several other 150~ bile chars to disable 1-2 braziers PER RUN.

The more the merrier up to the point you provoke a town belling. Hard to tell where that point is.

If you pay your Treaty then I don't think you really need to worry about Town belling. Anyone who would spend that much to ransack a hermit would be a lot of fun for the Tribe so I would think you would get a very quick response form them.
