Humour cap lvl going down?

Played Salem a while ago came back to the game and made a new character.
I have been noticing that my humours keep going down and staying down ( I am not living in the darkness ) for example my stats are at 4.4 and don't go any higher even if I eat food.

what is happening?

yes. I just crashed and came back in and now i am at 3.5/3.5/3.5 for all humours

Are you eating mushrooms, perhaps?

By chance were you eating witches hat mushrooms, which give you a 20 mins+ debuff and lowers your max cap humors

Ive been eating them ***** like crazy...

Yeah, we can't eat those anymore. You have to boil them first over a fireplace with a copper pot, for sale at the vendor for something like 180 silver.

wtf... alright ill stick to cooked chestnuts for now i guess.
Makes sense though, before you never had to cook you could just always eat mushrooms

You can still safely eat lavender blewits and sugar caps, by the way.

And the lobster shrooms. To note, the Waxing Toadstools have a very, very small debuff and there's a chance that they are actually Waning Toadstools which are a bit more poisonous, but still not as bad as Witch's Hats. See the "1UP" announcement for details on shrooms and how to boil them.
