I can third this.
My base is pretty far from anything and not very obvious.
Playing for a little less than two months, refuse to pay the ridiculous treaty and so far i have seen only a few people around my base who were apparently a couple of wandering newbies followed around by some weird aggressive guy.
Apart from them i have seen only abandoned bases but no other players and i wander pretty far from my base at times.
Pick a good spot far away from Boston and you'll be fine i guess.
Apart from the obvious looking around for hours to find four of each everything.

Inb4 a thread is made with your name on it, its allways nice to know theres few ppl left on the server that havent YET paid the treaty. Some times we in the tribe get bored you know...

Like i said before
If my base got raided that would be an awesome excuse to quit.
I can stop worrying about where this game is going and you have one less player on Plymouth.

I WAS playing because i thought it was awesome.
Then they "fixed" purity and made some more "improvements".
Every time i started playing the last month i tried the new stuff and to have some fun, just gotta adapt, right?
So i spend hours and hours looking for items with the right colour numbers and decent purity.
Yay, found 6% water, damn the coloured numbers don't match with my seeds/etc/etc.
Spending like 50% of the time adding coloured numbers and finding you don't have the right items with the right coloured numbers gets very boring very fast.
No to mention having to travel for an hour back and forth to just get water, of one element...
Then there's lime, granite, etc, etc.
The game is not playable and/or fun like this.
So i'm done now.
I won't bother you anymore, promise!

Get with a village and make friends. Makes things alot better.

You dont have to walk an hour to get your water. Just plant an alt there and transfer all the water you want through Boston.

Unfortunately, I have to say 'make an alt' sucks as a mechanic. Doesn't look like they learned from HnH, just bad habits maybe?

Joining a village is definitely what they want to push, and arguably with enough ppl playing round the clock you could grind purity pretty quickly - once they actually add some chance for random purity gains/up the power of alchemy 10-20x/whatever else, it will be possible to get decent purity food. Not 100%, but I think villages will eventually build a select individual or two into bile monsters.

For the solo player like myself, I've yet to dabble into upgrading purity.... having to build everything from the ground up sucks, but it seems that there is a light at the end of the tunnel once I do manage to get established. OF course, it could all be torn asunder in a moment.
