So, rather than bbile increasing time on claim linearly, it could raise it asymptotically. Ie, introduce a reel-like debuff which makes you take more damage from braziers for every shot you took within the same crime debuff.

Because abusing a broken mechanic during a beta period should be a reward? It's not the first time and it won't likely be the last time before the game sees the release date if the devs do something and wipes the excessively "large" characters off or puts them down to what is reachable under the current system. Just take it as a reasonable warning that it could come before the game goes live.
Truth of the matter is that nobody is going to risk losing those massive humors over random raiding. Just a few braziers will discourage them from coming at you as every point they lose will be one that can never be gotten back until food purity reaches high enough to glutton back up, that is assuming that high of a number can ever be reached again. Nothing like putting all that work in for a camp slave that's bound to the walls. That there is the mega-troll that the devs have inflicted upon the players. (Of course, if need arises, the titans could be set free on someone to smash and trash, but they would likely be titans no more.)
