In theory, would it be possible to trap wild animals inside walls and keep them from despawning by leaving an alt near them at all times?

On that note.. can animals spawn on your claim? I know I had timber rattlers on mine even though my gate was closed... or can rattlers pass fences? Would make sense since my fence is split-rail...

It doesn't matter if it is a claim or not, if the tiles aren't paved there is a chance for animals or groups of critters to spawn on your claim.

Creatures can't spawn on paved tiles.

Yes this is possible. In haven, troll hides are bugged and so are beehives. In the case of bee hives, if a borka is not present and the map resets, wax q will go to q100 regardless of what you'd ground it up to. For troll hides, the hide would reset when a borka was not present (troll hides take like 2 weeks too lol)

The monsters/animals will not despawn so long as they're within render distance of you.

No.

Creatures can spawn on town claims. They can't spawn on pclaims. Simple.

- Creatures do not spawn on personal claim regardless of dirt, natural biome etc.
- Creatures DO spawn on village claim
- Creatures will DESPAWN after several hour even within line of sight of another player

I remarked on this a while ago. We had established very sophisticated bear turrets consisting of a 2 gate stone pen on our weak points. Bears were lured into the pen and kept in combat. Once enclosed they would spam roar and the aggressor would then enter the town claim and have their permissions removed being force logged in untill server restart. Their log out spot would keep the bear in view and after several hours the bears would eventually disappear.

Not to derail, but this was the problem with wax? Seriously? Man.... (and that would be q10, wouldn't it?) Should have figured it's the same bug as so many other things.
