I choosed other. Therefore I shall explain.

I'm neutral with this update. The only thing that lightened me up is that cauldron has finally a use, which is much abligied. But doing activities in the woods whilst finding foraged food to regen will be hard, as Blackberry is my current regen refreshment. The people I mostly feel bad for are newbies, as it is one step harder to catch up with us monsters.

I am a newbie i think. I play now for 2 weeks and i ate most time mushrooms because of my home is in a forest and they are easy to get there.
Yes that update makes it a little bit harder but i do not mind the mushroom poisen only when i want to get in gluttony mode its very anoying to wait a hour before.

The Cauldron always had a use. Not one that the majority of Salem players know how to use yet but the Tribe has our Cauldron in the Brick house for a reason. Once you unlock the secrets to its uses you will see that it is FAR more powerful than simply boiling mushrooms.

If you are a beginner, it's worse.

I think it is better due to the simple fact that it feels like witchcraft is becoming more prominant in the future. I think it is better and worse for new players by how it adds a more enriching gaming experience, but makes it more difficult to simply get a ton of shrooms to fed oneself.

Pros:
1. adds a more realism feel to the game
2. finally a use for those bloody cauldrons
3. new players will feel like there is more to the game right at the start and feel a tid be less grind and more planning (to eat or not to eat)

Cons:
1. New players will have a harder time getting that easy food since now it has debuff and iwll have to look for different food

The thing is that foraging is seriously overpowered. As a new player the coniferous and autumnal biomes just blow everything else out of the water. Personally I'd like to see the other biomes and fishing getting a little love. Not to mention that the poison from anything but witch's hats is hardly more than a minor inconvenience.
