Yes you can do that wall splash trick. Even works on Town claims that have stupid builds.

That is why I recommend you have several grid areas with their own set of walls and braziers. That extra 5 tile gap (should actually be 6) will end up costing quite a bit of silver that you should probably have invested a town claim anyways. As long as your wall is stone on the perimiter most raiders are not going to go thru the trouble of transferring in lime granite and stone to wall splash bug abuse. You guys have no idea how overpowered braziers are. As long as you have not pissed off titans, even a dozen braziers in a small claim will deter almost all raiders. Stick to my recommendation on # of my braziers as bare minimum (even easier now with the circle radius showing up on brazier construction) to have adequate brazier coverage. Even seasoned raiders 300+ biles are not going to 'inspect' your claim with 2-3 braziers covering any area.

At this point in the game it's not even worth the raid food as a Raider to bother with claims that have braziers unless they are a target.

I get the idea. My concern is that braziers will never wake up. Or wake up when they are running with goods from your mine :)

They will wake up, and pretty quick. IF someone went straight for you mine, yeah, they might be able to get an inventory full and run with it. If you have that much stuff in your mine, put an extra wall in front of it, problem solved.

Since putting up 14 braziers I haven't had anyone bother my claim. My neighbors on the other hand are getting their crap knocked down and looted at least once a week. I kinda block my braziers in with compost bins. Figured they would be a pain to move to get to the braziers.

Can you please further clarify this: wiki states that the formula for brazier fire is 3/(1+N*0.2) where N the number of other braziers in range. The effect is that more than 10 brazier is pointless dps wise. And even 100 brazier result in 14 dps. The formula is not right? How can you get 30-40 BB/second?

Wiki is out of date. There was a change a while ago that increases the cap on braziers hitting one target.

I have experience being hit by max braziers and it isn't pretty.

I also read that the damage they deal is actually lowered when there are other blazers around. So whats the optimal placement of blazers?

Next is, should I extend my claim to one square beyond my fence line? My thinking is that they will have to be on my property to be destroying my stuff (fence) so there black bile will drain while they are beating on the fence, or will it already drain because the thing they are attacking is on my claim even tho they are not?

How do houses and mines work as far as claims go? will a house/mine on my claim still affect badguys once they go inside the house/mine? Are houses a bad idea defense wise because it gets them away from the blazers outside?

I dont expect any one will be rainding my place. as far as I know I'm the only active player in the area. But it never hurts to know these things.

The most important defensive measurement is though to learn the politics of the server and make a deal with the side you think can protect you the best. Sooner or later someone will find you.

i have a security question! it would be a lot easier for me if i can plant trees in a few spots instead of building walls, cuz trees can be planted on more of a slope apparently. is it more of a pain for a raider to cut down a tree and stump, or destroy a stone wall? what about two trees? how many do i need??? any advice or anything about defending a sloped location would be appreciated
