if i'm sure no1 could destroy my things... why not a makeshift fence all around your tiny hovel?

True, build town bell and do same and you got 100% secure wall for at least 20 hours right now. You can be sure that hermits without town bells won't be able to raid you, so it is like in no-waste-skill server, but you can raid them :)

After so many threads discussing the exact same thing (even multiple threads on this forum and the old forums by the sameOP), you would understand by now that the game cannot work how it is supposed to with a PVE server.

One thing is how it supposed to work. The other thing is how it can work. I'm 100% sure that there is a way to nerf pvp to the ground without breaking happy farmer aspect.

Edit: just take your wall example. And compare time/resources they need to grief me with what they need to raid my tiny hovel now. And they will not contribute in any way, so such pattern is discouraged by the system. Thus PVE server would attract people that is not interested in PVP.

Yeah sure it would, until you got douchebags running around ruining everybodies fun in various other ways (making walls around claims/leantos, annoying people with alt spamming, blocking people off from certain things like lime/water/mineholes, and 1000 other things that I could do to grief people). The only difference is that you wouldn't be able to do jack **** about it.

This topic is like herpies... It will never go away. With proper management, though, it's effects can be lessened.

In this case proper management = lock.

Hello,
I have been enjoying the hell out of Salem so far. I have a few suggestions.

1] Snakes. Yes, I know, everybody hates them. I do not propose to outright nerf them.
Keep them as they are now, but please consider making antidote a little bit easier to make for new players.

2] I like the idea of contant threat in Salem. Threat of being robbed, or killed. But considering how much time it takes to create a solid character, could you please consider making servers with a little bit different rulesets?

What I suggest is:
Softcore: KO reduces 2 random profficiency points, DEATH reduces 5-x (maybe even % of total profficiency points) random profficiency points
Hardcore: KO reduces 2 random profficiency points, DEATH is permanent - character moved to Softcore

I think people, including me, would be much more likely to spend real money on silver for softcore as well as hardcore.
The threat is still there, consequences of death, even on higher levels are severe, but you do not lose character.
