Can't get into game without creating new character...

Upon going into Enders client, I'm able to log in, and when it hit the character select screen, I select the character I want and it does nothing. The top of the screen changes to Character Name - Salem (Modified by Ender .....) but the screen doesn't change. The only way for me to get into the game is by clicking the 'new character' button and I don't want another character right now... Any ideas greatly appreciated.

If your first character was on Jamestown then it's because Jamestown has just crashed, so you should keep an eye on the "Server status" button up top to see when the server's back so you can continue playing your main.

Oh ouch ok. Any idea on how long it normally takes for the server to be up again after a crash? And yes, all my characters happen to be on Jamestown..

It's anyone's guess really .. less than an hour if lucky, more than 4 if we get the same luck the plymouth folk got the other day.
