But if the goal is to eliminate stall monopoly... then well stalls got to go. Replace with one big market building (Call it an auction house if you prefer) where every character can put up x number of items for sale at a price of y. That item then goes into the public market database and is frozen for a week - either the item gets bought or the item becomes stale and exits the market - either case the slot is still occupied until the player comes and claims his item or money and then can re-use the slot for a new item or to try and sell the same item at a new price again.

When buyers come to the market they see a list of everything in the market which they can sort by item type / price or they can use filters to filter the list on item type

This way, no monopolies, no issues with fairness.

Again, this will never happen. The dev's have stated that a non-social trading market like this is not their goal. The want us to trade in barrels with some things being bought in limited player owned stalls. They want us to talk to each other and negotiate and steal from each other in the barrels. They do want to end the monopolies on the stalls tho. I think they're doing a pretty good job of that. The thing I'm most looking for is some sort of leniency on active players making money off of stalls with a reduced population playing like now. The easiest way to do that is to keep the 1000s rent and get rid o the 15% tax. This will help active merchants and active traders with merchants and new players trying to buy that first nail as things will be cheaper.

Honestly, i dont care for the stalls monopoly, i just dont like this high taxation because thanks to that, the people is not selling anymore supplys for noobs or other mid game things, stalls only sell high costs things to supply the upkeep and the majority is empty.

I hope they do something quickly.

Can you provide some quotes for those claims, please?

When I go to Boston for transactions
1). 1/2 to 2/3 of the stalls are empty.
2). Often stalls aren't buying what I have
3). Often stalls aren't selling what I want/need
4). If I find any other characters in "town," I try to trade for what I want - but if I can't, I simply give it away and go home to forage some more.

IMHO - the stalls could be sorted by categories, like department stores, and everything would simply be sold on consignment - first in, first out. So if I have a savage charm to sell, I would take it to the inspirationals stall and drop it off. If there are already 10 savage charms there, then I have to wait until they sell before mine goes up for sale. Straight % markup of perhaps 10%, so if I sell a savage charm I get 31 or 32 credits, if I want to buy one I pay 35 credits.

Champie found a recent one, but there are more about them wanting trade to be part of the social aspect of the game. A lot of these were before Xmas so I'm not going to go dig through dead threads about it, but they did say it way back when.

Stalls are as non-social as you can get. You can run a stall without ever speaking to anyone else in the game. Stalls killed a lot of social trading but it was necessary evil back then to get some real $ into their pockets; the situation changed long time ago.

Yeah, but people needed a solid way to buy stuff also, but I'm more worried about the recent population drop with the new more expensive stalls.

Again, Dev's please get rid the 15% tax for active players. It's impossible to have a stall with these rent prices and less then 100 people playing on my server.
