In the livestream today, Jorbtar has revealed that the Cthulhu mask can be crafted by using the recipe for the seaweed mask using something rare that requires fishing to get instead of regular seaweed. And indeed, when you hold your cursor over the seaweed icon in the crafting recipe for the seaweed mask, you will notice that it says "unmentionable thing from the sea". So who wants to try and catch this rare item?

I Actually always knew that existed because Jorb told me about it months ago..i just gave up on finding that rare item.
Also FYI...that update with the seaweed masque recepie changing to unmentionable things from the sea is pretty old
