I've played this game on and off for several months. It's fun and has grown into something I don't think anyone anticipated. It actually deals with things like going insane and the world itself items included, can change.

It's also the closest thing I've found that isn't a huge time sink to an old Warcraft III map called "Wilderness Survival." Basically you're out in the wilderness and have to gather/hunt/invent to win. That's multiplayer, of course, but was reminiscent. You hit the nail on the head with the comparison, though. It's dark, fun, and quirky.

it didn't even have singleplayer so if you played with a bunch of ****** people you couldnt even enjoy the whole game, as you'd win prematurely.

I put 260 hours into Don't Starve before finally giving in and playing Salem.

I'm either crazy or it's a really good singleplayer game.

The crafting is nice, but no where near as complex as Haven/Salem. The game can be difficult until you figure everything out, resulting in lots of death and starting over.

It's got a lot of charm and is worth checking out if you haven't already, it's an excellent time waster.

I've actually bought this game as well after recommendations, I have yet to try it but might have to start it up since it seems there are more people than I thought fond of this game.

I played the demo over a few times. It's pretty fun actually, I feel the day/night cycles are a little rushed but then again when I first started playing minecraft I felt the same way. I'm sure that once you get somewhat established the game becomes a lot more forgiving
