Copper Node

Postby Dad00 » Thu Apr 25, 2013 4:08 pm

So I am out prospecting with my Woo-Woo Wand this morning and I discovered a new mine node near my farm. My question is does the graphic for a Copper Node look different than an Iron Node? The node I found looks just like a near by Iron Node. Can someone supply a picture of a Copper Node?

Found one with 14% rods. Too bad it has no use.

Been walking around my base for about half an hour in a fairly big circle with woowoo wands.
About 10 (crappy) iron nodes and a few more wells, three wells in about a 30x30 tile area somewhere.
copper? none!
Every update i get more discouraged to play.

Well, we dont even know what those mines will contribute to. Maybe they are insignificant like the entire alchemy set up. (So far.)

I also did 1h search around my place - around 20 iron mines, 10 water spots no copper.
I hope copper wont be that rare and used in super duper alchemy stuff etc.

Would be good if copper was very rare, and had a very useful purpose.

But I expect it to be another "meh" feature....

HAs anyone started digging up and processing copper?

I am interested in knowing:

a) does every tile mined produce a copper boulder? Or is it random?

b) when you chip the copper boulder, do you get copper ore? If so, how many ore per boulder?

c) when you smelt the copper ore - is it like iron where you need a mixture of lime? is it following the same ratio guideline as iron?

d) do copper bars get highlighted in any of the recipes which call for iron bars? in other words, can copper be used in substitution of iron... which may indicate that they may produce special results sort of like getting wicked wicker man if you use singing old log instead of regular log

Well, I found a node like the picture on page 6 and built a mine. It is only producing ore so far. It is a 4% (22/11/37/30) Sulfur Ore found with a 8% (21/7/32/40) Lead Rod.

But I swear I saw 2 different looking mines when I was searching. They are close. I will post pics soon.

Ok, I found these using the woo-woo wand.
I assume that the center image is Copper and the left and right images are Iron. Is this correct?

I am fairly certain that I just placed a mine on top of the middle image (the darker veins), but so far I have only mined ore from it (see above). I guess I will build another mine on the center image and see what happens

Any help?

UPDATE: I get the System Message "You Cannot Build That There" when trying to place a mine entrance on the center mine node. This is different from the "ground not level" message, or the "must be on a mine node" message.

UPDATE: I leveled the area and I was then able to place a mine entrance. Before I build the mine, I am hoping someone can confirm which is a known Iron Ore Mine node. Thanks.

Either the vein with copper colored stripes is a copper mine, or I have lots and lots of copper mines around me, lol. And i'm pretty sure all the grey ones i'm seeing are iron, so have at with the mine entrance :D
