This is not a be-all and end-all guide to base defense it's simply a group of things that I feel are going to best suit the average player's needs when it comes to defending what is theirs. There is no true perfect base defense because bases will always be raidable. If you have things to add feel free but please stay constructive with it.

Explode everything where the tree falls, easy (incoming) fix =)

or nuke all overlapping tree's, just like they did with fields

Treesplosions please.

I think there's an awesome effort put in, albeit this is a matter of "opinions" in many cases and there's not always a true answer.

Treewalls can be fixed super easy if they just get coded like haven where other objects around them cause them not to grow. No changing in mechanics otherwise required.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Your mega post, although about base defense and alike, actually helped me see how incurably autistic and not fun foundation of this game is. Honestly, I did hope for a bigger evolution step after H&H many years ago. I'll stick around some more but my enthusiasm, after putting more effort than average gamer is slowly but steadily withering, again, same as it did with Haven years ago. Its releaving in a way.
Thanks.

It will be soon - with all the advice you're getting.

The good news is: YOU don't have to worry about base design! Just simply join your "friendly" neighborhood town (or another friendly town) and do your thing while contributing to the defense either with crafting, farming, hunting, or other activity everyone can benefit from!

Epic post is epic. Too bad the game mechanics aren't set in stone for any of this to last very long. Otherwise, fairly informative for the newer players looking in to how better defend themselves.

I'll hopefully be able to update it as new things are added but for now it's decent for mechanics today

After further consideration there are a few other "walls" that can be used such as houses and ovens... Sort of a derpy siege system imo

Do braziers shoot through trees and other unmovable objects?
