Well, at least one notable culture before Christianity had a religious marriage: The Jews. In fact, it is very likely Jesus, as a historical figure, was married himself. Born a Jewish man, he would have been a complete societal outcast if he wasn't married. Hmm. Perhaps he was a homosexual?
Also, in ancient Greece, although there was no formal homosexual marriage, it was common and accepted for Greek men to have a wife, and a male lover.

The ancient celts preferred to sleep with other men instead of women as well, and children were given the last name from the maternal side.

But they didn't have gay marriage.

In any case the fact remains that no (notable) civilization in history has ever married any other than a man and a woman. Homosexual unions are a new thing, and should be given a new term. Otherwise we would end up arguing the definition of a word till sunset and I'm not into hair splitting.

Both the etymology of the word marriage and the legal definition are completely separate from the made up christian "definition" of the word. This is like me starting my own cult and re-defining the word "******" to mean "happy" and actively protesting people who continue to use the word as a racist term.

If you honestly, honestly believe that homosexuals or anybody from the LGBT community should adopt a new word to describe a legal marriage, you are literally ***** retarded. This is not up for debate in any way, shape or form, you are 100% wrong and your opinions on this idea are logic-less, hypocritical and ultimately ***** stupid. It's not even enough that you should learn something today, you should FEEL stupid.

I truly hope you are trolling because with every post in this thread you are losing more and more respect from this community, and let's be honest, after leaving H&H for Salem, you need every last little bit of respect you can muster from both communities.

You, on the other hand, enjoy it in opulence, as wishing cancer and death upon dissidents is merely the liberal way of saying hello.
