Yes, the answer is floating around here somewhere. However, if you're on the default client, it's not so simple. In Windows, you have to go in and edit the registry and delete a key. I forget which one it is, though, or even where it's at. I'm not even going to try to give any instructions on this or finding it because screwing up the registry can make a computer inoperable.
The absolute easiest way to fix this is to uninstall Java, download a tool that will clean Java's leavings up (including any registry entries), and then reinstall.
