No, there wasn't anything going on in Boston. The tribe had helpfully set up a town claim along the border to let people know they were entering tribal lands when the leave the main city. There was no fence and no actual siege, but the town was just destroyed by Jorb and a message broadcast.

I imagine that there will eventually be a secondary claim or other system that limits how close any kind of town or personal claim can be placed to the colony town.

that will make sieging more expensive... not impossible at all
