Obviously much less influencial than the 'Iron Lady' so that probably explains why he didnt have a military guard of honour, etc etc which she will be honoured with? I personally feel that the guard of honour is there so that people wont grab the coffin, open it and check she really is dead.
The point I am making here is that she is being made a special case, and Jehesus, why pick HER? She was in power over 20 years ago and people still loathe her. This is a woman who sent armed police against unarmed protesters and forever created a barrier between North and South and West and East, basically anyone who isnt in London lost out big time by her policies... and yet she is the only prime minister being given this honour. Yeah she has to be buried, but dont make it a bloody state funeral.

I know UK politics too badly, but isn't the reason for why Churchill (who belonged to the Conservative party) did not receive a such burial as simple as the fact that it was the Labour party in power when he died? On the other hand the Conservative party is very much in power right now when Margaret Thatcher died (who also belonged to the Conservative party).

Could the explanation be that simple?

What, you mean how he's bringing it back from the edge of economic collapse, ending 2 wars, and trying to rebuild our broken infrastructure and health care system?

....and before any of you 'merica first idiots post any of your *****, know that I am a small business owner with a minority stake in a 200 person transportation company who has a vast knowledge about the changes to small business under Obama's America.

....and yes I also know something about British Politics. For Thatcher, good riddance. She killed the UK industry economically, and was a leader towards the 'global economy' that has failed so many now. Yes the conservatives are in power but only because of a mutant bastard coalition that will never last another election. For all UK voters, I'd use this as a barometer on why to vote labor next time and I'd also like to thank Obama for sending no one from his cabinet to her funeral.

As someone who celebrated when Osama died, I can understand why you think it weird that we're celebrating her death like we celebrated his. She also led to the death's of innocent civilians through both her policies and her wars. Arguably she caused more damage to the world and especially the people of the UK than Osama bin Laden ever did. We celebrate the death of evil in all it's forms, if it comes at us in the form of religious extremism, or the extremism of greed and the war against progressive democracy.

Because he didn't?

Thatcher was an elitist that paved the way for privatization. She created a bigger gap between rich and poor.

I can go on for days talking about selfish ***** people, but seriously i cannot be arsed.

Moron? Welfare Entitlement? Whatever Darworth. I'm sure I have less haters than you do.

I'm one of the few people that also voted '***** no' with you on the poll for a new server and I've also agreed with your position of no wipe if you're trying to relate this to in game positions. Where we differ is that I support a fair game system that allows all players an even chance, not a flawed game that allowed the first people the easiest path, forever.

As to Thatcherism versus Obama. I don't support Welfare, I support work for everyone and believe that work is the only true production of wealth. I believe in Progressive Democratic change and regulated Capitalism. I don't support uncontrolled Capitalism, Unchecked Inherited Wealth or divisive Conservative Social views. Does that mean I supported Obama over Bush, McCain, or Romney then, just like most Americans, hell yeah. You've made it clear you don't care about anybody's interests but your own Darworth, both here and in game. I find that an incredibly shallow view of the world, and feel a little bit sorry for you, but grief on. I'm sure you'll still keep playing the divisive shallow game here and in life. :(

This is nothing more than a party political event, sponsored, without the permission of the british people, without the consultation of the british people, but at the expense of the british people. The only reason she succeeded in remaining in power for three terms was because of her cynical use of the falklands war to distract from her home policies, and the support of one Rupert Murdoch in the media. She at no time received more than 44% of the vote, which is not a mandate, and the attempts to whitewash her as some sort of saviour of the british economy ignores the decline that the world is now in after following the corrupt and greedy policies that she encouraged in the banking system and the world markets. She sold off public housing and left the streets full of homeless people. She took funding from the schools and hospitals and sold off our assets to the highest bidder. She is the reason that we pay for water, that life giving substance that even the poorest should have free access to, no, it should become a business, with shareholders, who demand bonus' on their investment. She destroyed our manufacturing base and turned this into a country of service industry. An empty industry that has no intrinsic value.
Bottom line, she created a world that knew the price of everything, and the value of nothing except greed.
When she closed all the pits she forgot one, and thats the pit that will welcome her now. Halleluyah
Is terminally confused and her head hurts

Dang... this sure sounds familiar... :?

And isn't that Rupert Murdoch guy the one that got busted for illegal wiretapping and hacking?

Isn't it amazing how history repeats itself, even so quickly after previous world events involving the exact same thing?
