"The info on __ wiki page is wrong!" Wiki Update Thread

Postby Hans_Lemurson » Sun Apr 14, 2013 9:24 am

You're a newcomer to the game and as you're browsing through our fair Wiki you run across some information that is...WRONG?!!!
Do you not feel confident enough to make your own wiki account to correct this heinous oversight?
Do you feel more comfortable complaining on the forums instead?

Well look no further; this is the thread for you!
Just write a post your complaints right here about any wiki inaccuracies you stumble upon.

Please include:
-Link to the article in question.
-Description of inaccuracy
-Your up-to-date information on the subject
-A screenshot too if possible, but only if you're feeling really* ambitious.
*(Not all THAT ambitious, since you're in a special gray zone between "screenshot posting skillz" and "Don't wanna make a new account for another website")

That's all! A person who actually has an account on the wiki and some rudimentary understanding of wiki formatting will be happy to correct the information as soon as is convenient.

The wiki NEEDS people like you, since once you've read it once over and learned most of the game, you develop a blind spot to information that you "already know". You don't check the pages to see if they are still accurate, and you forget what it was like for a concept not to make sense.

Your ignorance** thus empowers you for the betterment of all. Let it flow!
**(I am kidding. You are very very smart and we all appreciate you for that.)

Yeah nice post.
I already noticed few mistakes, then created an account on the Wiki, but was lost in the process to modify a page...
So I ended up doing nothing.

I'll post here if I can remember what was wrong...

Is this for errors only or are missing info allowed too?
For instance, almost all structures are missing info about their size in the info segment. Some have it listed in the overall notes segment instead.

IMO if you want to help with the wiki, make a wiki account. Each page has a "Talk" or "Discussion" page for a reason.

Otherwise, +1 for this. I'll certainly be glad to help out with posting information others come up with. I'm a good editor if not necessarily a good content creator.

That's a little more complicated, but I think it should work out fine.

Hmm...except that apparently the template doesn't seem to include size as an editable field. That's something for the "wiki suggestion thread".

I like the initiative... but isn't there already a wiki thread for exactly this?
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Wiki on Leanto needs some lovin. Some of the info is not correct anymore. Also a few words about what it takes to destroy a claimed leanto could be in order.

Yeah, but it's in the suggestions forum, and my understanding is that it is suggestions for changes to the underlying structure of the wiki, not the facts that lie at its surface. That's what this thread is for.

"Needs some lovin" is a little bit vague.

Post what you think the Wiki SHOULD say, not just tell others to "just take tare of the mess, ok?"
