How to determine the alchemy of a planted tree?

Postby Snowpig » Tue Apr 09, 2013 7:30 am

Ok, we have got some pots now, which do not show their alchemy values after picking them up from the kiln. We have tree cutlings, which do not show their alchemy values after growing into a plantable state.

question here: how do will I know, which alchemy value a tree has?

- from striking a cutling?
- from picking up branches?
- from both?
- from chopping the tree + making boards only ? (-> this would be plain stupid)

I'm guessing branches, leaves, cuttings, although I think its still too early for anyone to know.
But wait until you have a 100% tree and making boards with a 0% axe screws them over ¦]

dont forget the 0% sawbuck
yea who needs "secure" trading, its not like this game would benefit from it, lets just kill the newbs instead as long as that's fun and people still join the game.

I quite enjoy settling in new places and then move one when "all" is done. Its good we get some real challenge. This update has grown on me. Especially when I hear the whining from the big boys.

To determine the alchemical makeup of a potted tree, plant the tree in the ground and pick a branch from it. This worked before last Thursday as well.

How soon after planting a tree can a branch be pulled from it?

I just planted a tree from a pot into the ground and the only option I get is Chop. What happens if I chop it now anyway -- does it actually produce a full log from this tiny little guy?

Sorry, I never actually noticed how long it takes to get branches. I know you can once the tree looks like a tiny version of the full thing instead of a stick with leaves. That's maybe 1 or 2 days? It's less than three days, but that's all I know for sure.
