So far i've found only up to 5.5% pure water, and only two nodes at that. As for granite and lime, i've found both with 4% purity so far. Still scouting a large area around my base though, so I hope to eventually find more decent stuff.

Is the purity of a Mine Node related to the purity of nearby Water, Clay or Lime?

No its not. My mine node has low sulfur (~17) and other elements in the 30ies. The lime quarry nearby has ~36 sulfur.

its quite possible, that the mine node influences the purity of foraged lime - i will take a look at it next days.

Noticed from my foraging runs that the purity of foraged granite does not correspond to the purity of foraged lime -> both have their "peaks" at different locations. Highest purity found on granite so far: 5%.

No it does not
I foraged near a 14% merc mine and none of the items were even merc

As far as I can tell the dominant element around me is mercury both in water and in mushrooms. The deer are lead for some reason.

From the announcement: each item has its own field. You might have a few that overlap with the same dominant element or you might have all four present.

Going for the dominant element of water might be a good idea??

Pure humus with neutral pot, water and cutting. That's my latest finding.

pure humus - so it was 100.0 in sulphur?

Thanks for sharing!

About 95% or so. Give or take.

If you could give the actual elemental composition, that would be most helpful. (Although you may have used it all up already...)

You can do math with elements, but not with Purity%.

However, 95% purity means that your highest element (sulphur) would have been around 98.

98 + (5*25) = 223 (I tried 3, 4, and 5 as multipliers but only 5 came close)
223/6 = 37.17 Which is close enough to your 36.93 Sulphur that I believe this to be correct. Any errors can be attributed to the humus not being exactly 98.00 sulphur, and maybe some of that random variance that was mentioned.

Potted Plants get only 1/6th of their purity from Humus. This is as it was before, based on some tests I did with mushrooms pre-patch.
